SolarWinds Recognized in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring

Evaluated for the second straight year, the company continues to be recognized for its ability to execute and completeness of vision in the APM space

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SolarWinds (NYSE:SWI), a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced it has been recognized in the April 2020 Gartner® Magic Quadrant® for Application Performance Monitoring (APM) based on the completeness of vision and ability to execute for its APM suite of products – Pingdom®, AppOptics, and Loggly®. The company believes its dedication to delivering simple, powerful, and affordable APM tools validates its recognition for the second year in a row, reflecting its position in the APM market.

Gartner defines APM as a “suite of monitoring software comprising digital experience monitoring (DEM), application discovery, tracing and diagnostics, and purpose-built artificial intelligence for IT operations.”* The report evaluated 15 different software vendors on 15 criteria.

“At SolarWinds, we believe application performance can be synonymous with business success, and cost and complexity shouldn’t be prohibiting factors in achieving it. Over our 20-plus year history, we’ve been committed to IT pros in delivering products that are not only easy to use, but easy to buy, and affordable,” said Jim Hansen, vice president of product strategy, SolarWinds. “We consider our inclusion in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for APM Suites as further testament of our mission to help ease this burden and unlock the power of APM for all with features and functionality that help reduce complexity for a fraction of competing prices.”

In addition to the analyst recognition, SolarWinds is a 2019 Gartner Peer Insight Customers' Choice in Application Performance Monitoring with an overall rating of 4.7/5 stars and an 89% willingness to recommend rate. SolarWinds users reviewed the products evaluation and contracting, integration and deployment, service and support, and product capabilities, among other aspects.

"AppOptics has integrations with a lot of frameworks and supports all major languages. This is a major plus when your applications are built on a different framework. The live code profiling feature is very useful to drill down on a performance issue reported. It helps me to identify the bottleneck of the issue as I can very much inspect the request transaction flowing through the whole system,” said a design and automation engineer in the manufacturing industry.
